The Pepe Nero’s story can be traced back to the summer of 2010 and the opening of our flagship pizzeria on Valletta’s waterfront. Now in its eighth year, the Pepe Nero brand is now home to three – soon to be four - of the best-loved restaurants in the Maltese Islands.

Back in the beginning, the ambition at our first venture was simple and it remains the same today: to give our customers wonderful food experiences.

And as time has moved on, so have we.

ABOUT US

Pepe Nero Malta

We’ve introduced a Meat House addition to our original menu in the capital, with great success. And our same trademark commitment to quality ingredients, friendly service and great, great pizza remains.

In October 2013, Pepe Nero made our first foray outwith Valletta with the much-loved local family restaurant Jessie's Bar in Ibragg.

There are changes afoot in 2018 with Jessie’s Bar, the Pepe Nero trattoria, set to relocate to a new custom-built site at Balluta bay St. Julian's where the new Pepe Nero BistroLounge will be opened for breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails.

Carrying forward the same successful formula of Jessie’s Ibragg, the Pepe Nero BistroLounge is very much business as usual, albeit in a new location.

The Pepe Nero BistroLounge will be open for business starting each day from breakfast. We’ve got the full gamut of early morning options covered: from a full English breakfast buffet, to healthy options like protein shakes, porridge, avocado on toast and eggs - every way imaginable.

Lunch at the Pepe Nero BistroLounge means healthy salads, a range of assaggi (Italian tapas), pulled pork bagels, brisket beef rolls, philly steak sandwiches, pasta, steak, ribs, and seafood options. Cocktails are served all afternoon and beyond and our famous pizza and home delivery is also, very much, part of the mix.

The original Jessie’s restaurant in Ibragg meanwhile, is also set to be transformed under the watchful eyes of the Pepe Nero team.

Our vision is Pepe Nero Lebanese Fusion, an authentic Middle Eastern experience both in terms of service and cuisine.

With a menu and concept created by Lebanese chef Ali Taki, customers to this latest Pepe Nero eatery can expect typical warm and cold mezzes, a wide selection of grilled meats (chicken, beef, lamb, game and poultry) and complementary coffees and desserts from the Middle East.

As a restaurant group, Pepe Nero is also famous for its seafood. That is just as it should be for an island restaurant group. And it was a natural progression to see that part of Malta’s culinary history represented in a venue that’s menu reflects Malta’s eternal love affair with the deep, blue Mediterranean that dominates island life.

We opened the doors of the Pepe Nero Shell Shack & Grill in Veccja , St. Paul's Bay in September 2016. It is a location notable for its spectacular bay views, especially at sunset.

The Shell Shack & Grill formula combines fresh local seafood, premium meats perfectly cooked and seasoned, served from an open kitchen and supported by an extensive wine list.

Typical specialities include lobster ravioli, sea urchin pasta, fresh oysters and classic Maltese speciality fresh fish dishes, that for many represent the true flavour of these islands’ cuisine.

Premium steaks and Pepe Nero’s famous pizza augment the The Shell Shack & Grill menu, for those looking for an alternative to seafood.

But regardless of whichever Pepe Nero venue you ultimately choose to visit, you’re sure to be guaranteed three things: a warm welcome, great service and superb, fresh, value for money food.
